Current financial crisis is forcing auto makers into designing smaller models that are reasonable in price and far more fuel efficient. That sounds like a very good reason for Mercedes-Benz to make the first steps in building a roadster based on their A-class platform. Inspired from the SLA Concept they showed off in Detroit in 2000, with futuristic curves and state of the art technology, the roadster will be just below the SLK in the product lineup, taking on BMW’s Z2 and VW. We’d love to get the chance to spin the little guy.  For a budget model, this concept looks pretty aggressive, no? [via WCF]
