Our Connecticut dining room has finally come together in the most beautiful way! Many of you may remember we scored these wingback chairs at an estate sale for $7! They were hideous before – covered in a bright green fabric, and we had them reupholstered in this cream linen material. Thomas then sanded down the legs of the chairs and stained them a light honey color. I am so happy with the end result. It really is incredible what a little stain and fabric can do to a chair.

This vintage rug is what ultimately pulled everything together and made the space feel warm and cozy. It’s from Linda’s Barn – an incredible vintage rug store with literally hundreds of rugs in all shapes and sizes! It was so hard to narrow down a rug (I legit wanted each and every one), but Linda was so helpful and I went with this neutral one. Although each rug is one of a kind, she has several similar to this – so definitely browse the site.
Many of you may remember that Thomas built our dining table. I did a DIY post about it here. It’s such a special piece, and the thick white oak planks are so unique. I’ve linked a few similar options below like this table and this one.
The 2 end chairs are wingback chairs from an estate sale that we had reupholstered, and the 4 wooden chairs are “wishbone” chairs from Wisteria, which sadly now is closed. I’ve linked several similar options below though! In terms of reupholstering, I’ve received several questions about the process. This article is really informative. We used Prince Upholstery in Connecticut. They picked up both of our chairs, brought fabric books for us to choose from, and also dropped the chairs off when they were done. Make sure to be specific if you want a cushion remade to be thicker, want it down filled or partial down filled, etc. I suggest writing down your requests and giving it to them so it’s very clear!
These Visual Comfort chandeliers are one of my favorite pieces in our entire home. They are so classic and well made. They really make a statement and elevate the entire room. The previous owners had a straw/rattan set of chandeliers which were really fun, but they made the home feel too rustic/casual for our personal preference. The brass chandeliers really add that elegance I wanted in the room.
