Most of Lamborghini’s legends are of the vehicular variety. The Countach. The Diablo. Yes, even the Miura. But it’s the unseen heroes behind these vehicles that are the true legends. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-2 Valentino Balboni introduces us to one such human legend. Valentino Balboni has been test driving Lamborghinis for over 40 years, putting his stamp of approval on all the iconic cars to roar out of their stables. While one might think such an enviable job is tribute enough, Lamborghini has introduced this special edition Gallardo in his honor. Complete with special colors, sportier suspension and racing strip splitting the center, the Gallardo LP560-2 Valentino Balboni is the ultimate tribute. After 40 years of driving some of the most powerful sports cars ever produced, it’s probably quite difficult to impress Balboni; “the fastest monument ever built” undoubtedly did just that, however. Iranian designer Emil Baddal hopes to bring a breath of fresh air to the world of automotive design. Baddal has captured the attention of fellow auto designers with his concept studies and illustrations of futuristic Lamborghinis, BMWs and Ferraris. Baddal’s designs are a bit edgier than traditional models, with sharper angles and lines that provide a refreshing perspective on the supercars of the world. While it is likely we’ll never see these beasts on the road, we’re quite happy admiring Baddal’s work from afar. [via Carscoop]

Distinguished by the twin themes of speed and mechanical prestige, luxury watchmaker Blancpain teamed up with Lamborghini to unveil an absolute masterpiece— the first ever Blancpain Super Trofeo Chronograph. Paying tribute to the fastest and most demanding automobile championship in the world, the watch itself is an instrument of precision and style that combines tradition and innovation. Featuring a Calibre F185 movement and a steel coated case with a diamond-like carbon treatment, the new Super Trofeo takes inspiration from the painted numbers on racing Lamborghinis. While there is no charging bull logo on the watch itself, the subtle charm along with its classy looks certainly make up for the absence. With only 300 of these to be made, can you blame us for craving for one? [via PorHomme]

When just a Lambo is not enough, you call the Brits from Prindiville Prestige. A custom builder of luxury one-offs for a very exclusive clientèle, they recently got their hands on a Murcielago and changed a few things here and there. The modified carbon fiber design now features a dynamic rear end complete with a titanium sports exhaust system, handle-less doors and a restyled engine bay cover with transparent cooling louvres. But more impressive than the aggressive exterior, Prindiville took good care of the interior. It’s filled with rich leather, hand-finished aluminum accents and packing any multimedia system the buyer desires. Way out of our league with a $430,000 price tag for the interior modifications only, Prindiville Prestige’s customized Lambo is definitely a vision for the ultimate dream car. [via TheAwesomer]

With earth-shattering performance wrapped under its stylish curves, a special edition Lamborghini Murciélago LP650-4 Roadster has just made it to the supercar arena. Nothing short of sexy, the exquisite roadster features a strikingly bold Grigio Telesto exterior done in a flat gray with orange accents, and a transparent engine cover that shows off the beast. With power being sent to all four wheels by a 6.5-liter V12 engine (from the Reventon) that sports 650 hp and 486 lb-ft of torque, it can fly from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and achieve a max speed of 205 mph. Only 50 units will be built so better hurry if you want to step behind the wheel for a hell of a ride. [via Jalopnik]

With speed and high performance technology coursing through its veins, the newest Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is the fastest, lightest and most powerful model the company has ever made. Exceptionally “purist”, the supercar is powered by a 6.5L V12 engine that outputs 670 hp and some 487 lb-ft of torque. With a little tweaking to the air intake system and after optimizing the engine’s valve timing, the new SuperVeloce achieves a max speed of 212 mph, does 0 to 62 mph in a breathtaking 3.2 seconds. With an upholstered Alcantra leather interior and a brutal exterior that defines aggresiveness in a modern fashion, we’d love to take this beast for a spin. [via WCF]

Following the traditional geometrical styling cues of a Lambo with elements inspired by the world of insects, Romanian designer Iulian Bumbu came up with an exquisite 2-seater, or “extreme race-oriented supercar”. Dubbed Lamborghini Insecta (who would have thought?), this fresh concept has an armor-like form with angular yet sweeping lines. Borrowing much from the Gallardo, Insecta features a pair of deep bucket seats, a U-shaped sports steering wheel and a stylish high center console that divides the passenger compartment. Kudos to Iulian for trying to get closer to perfection. Anyone from Lambo looking at these pics? [via CarBodyDesign]

Adding new shapes and bold new colors, the Italian kitchen designers over at Pedini Cucine have updated their popular Artika line to reflect the ever changing lifestyles of hip home diners. Ergonomics were a top concern for designers, who worked to make sure the functional fixtures were comfortable and useable while making a decisive statement as home centerpiece. Pedini also unveiled the Integra line, which borrows design cues from Lamborghini. Outfitted in ostrich skin and prominently displaying the car manufacturer’s bull logo, the company’s new design comes in black or signature Lambo yellow. [via trendir]
