Final touches are being added to a new Mercer Island home, which expected to be finished in 2010. The enormous Washington estate — a stone’s throw from Seattle — will be a staggering 13,600 square-foot behemoth complete with seven bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. The $32 million home is being built on a 1.7-acre waterfront lot on Lake Washington, the likely source of much of the home’s appeal to potential buyers. The stone and stucco home will have four fireplaces, vaulted ceilings and every arrangement of room, bar and office space. Outside, a spa and swimming pool are planned along with parking space for six cars. [via realtor]

At just under 29,000 square-feet, this Tampa estate isn’t a home– it’s a palace. With 10 bedrooms and 10 full bathrooms, the Florida residence lives amid 5.9 acres that overlooks a pond and the green links of the neighboring Avila Golf and Country Club. The home’s $25 million price tag nets miles of marble, gobs of imported granite, epic columns and custom carved moldings and mantels throughout the home. Outside, there’s a swimming pool, spa, basketball court and layers of balconies and terraces. Inside, residents can warm next to 14 fireplaces and ride the elevator to the “wine room,” or nap in the 2,200 square-foot master suite. [via realtor]

Frank Lloyd Wright Ennis House for Sale – Fixer upper types looking for a potentially huge payoff should consider Frank Lloyd Wright’s Ennis House, which still looks great from the outside considering its dilapidated condition. Wright used pre-cast concrete blocks to build the home in Los Feliz, Calif., giving it the feel of a Mayan temple. The Ennis House took earthquake damage in 1994 and deterioration from heavy rains 2004 and 2005. Locals also aren’t too keen on the place, yet its appearance in the 1982 film Blade Runner made it a favorite spot for tourists until it closed to the public in 2007. Stabilization efforts are partially completed, but the money is gone and there’s more work to be done. For $15 million, plus millions more in repairs, this masterwork is yours, but it’s twice as expensive as anything on our previous list of for-sale Wright homes. [via The Guardian]

If you feel like punishing actress Nicole Kidman for playing a part the recent “Australia” disaster, pony up $16.5 million and outbid her and hubby Keith Urban on this Beverly Hills home they reportedly made an offer on last week. Is this the famed Tiger Woods Home in Hawaii? Nope. The rumors are swirling, but Tiger actually does not have a home in Hawaii. As the rumor-busters at Snopes pointed out years ago, the stunning Maui beachfront property you see here doesn’t belong to the golfing great. While Tiger Woods certainly could afford this place, it’s not for sale. Wealthy vacationers can instead rent it for $6,750 to $8,250 per night, and sure, Woods could easily afford that, too. The “Jewel of Maui” sits along a quarter mile of beach, with five bedrooms, five bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms, plus a 60-foot-long pool and 2 hot tubs should the Pacific Ocean prove too salty. Inside, there are a total of 21 televisions, including a 9-foot projection screen. It’s not clear how the rumors began, but we do know that Woods and his family live in Florida. How dull. When famed film and TV producer Aaron Spelling died in 2006, his 15,700 square-foot Holmby Hills estate went to his widow, Candy, who recently put the sprawling home on the market. Neighbored by the Los Angeles County Country Club and down the street from The Playboy Mansion, the Spelling Manor is the largest residence in L.A. County and with its $150 million price tag is the most expensive home for sale in the country.
Built in 1991, the gated, three-story French chateau-styled palace has a wine cellar and tasting room, bowling alley, gift-wrapping room, humidity-controlled silver storage room, china room, barber shop, a library and scads of other rooms, some which come with 27-foot ceilings. Some have estimated the room count at more than 100, but even Candy Spelling can’t keep count. Lady Spelling recently told The Associated Press that she let her dog help choose the best real estate agent for the sale. Apparently, would-be agents were paraded in front of Madison the soft-coated Wheaten Terrier, whose reaction determined which realtor was ultimately chosen. After the sale, Spelling plans to slum it in a $47 million condo atop a residential tower in L.A. [via thedailytelegraph, pic via Atwater Village Newbie]

With a home like this, you’d almost welcome Kramer for a neighbor. The former residence of Jerry Seinfeld, this $6.3 million Sierra Mar home boasts direct views of both downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. Behind walls of glass lie three bedrooms and five bathrooms, a 4-car garage and a screening room. The home was built on a lot in Doheny Hills, which has room for expansion in case 5,900 square-feet isn’t enough space for Elaine, George or who ever you might want to entertain. [via realtor.com]

Santa Fe’s Milder residence blends old-world adobe charm with contemporary construction methods, creating an earthy example of sustainable home building. For the New Mexico home, Boston architects at Signer Harris took cues from traditional area homes, using materials that mimicked its desert surroundings. Built with autoclaved aerated concrete blocks and subtle metal detailing, the house stands apart from nearby residents, but an array of rooftop solar panels place the home completely off the grid. Crafted by Thomas Pedersen for Federica Furniture, the Stingray rocker was originally conceptualized in 2002. It may have taken 7 years for this graduation project chair to take shape, but the elegant, futuristic design will have a warm reception in modern homes throughout the world. Either made of sparkling metal or classic wood, along with fur as fabric or leather upholstry, this red hot property will add unabated charisma to the space it adorns. Simply aspirational!
