A sprawling, 15-acre ranch once owned by acting legend Steve McQueen and his third wife, Barbara Minty, is on the market for $1.95 million. The “King of Cool” and Ms. Minty moved into the Santa Paula, Calif, home in 1979 and married in the living room of the Victorian home in 1980. The estate has a three-acre Syrah vineyard and fruit tree orchard and three acres devoted horse care, training and riding and a 4,500 square-foot airplane hangar McQueen used to warehouse his Stearman biplane and car and motorcycle collection. Built in 1892, the home has period detailing and antique stained glass windows, but has been updated with commercial-grade kitchen fixtures and appliances. [via latimes]

Modern Mediterranean-style homes carry the ubiquity of palm trees in South Florida, but the $12 million estate at 325 Cocoplum Rd. stands apart from it’s newer counterparts with an antique, old-world veneer and subdued luxury embellishments. The 6-bed/5.5-bath home has 8,810 square feet situated on just an acre of waterfront Coral Gables real estate. The classic lines of the home are echoed in a simple pool and sidewalks that cut through groves of fruit trees. The home is surrounded by a wraparound porch, scads of patio space and a private boat dock, while the interior is filled with dark woods, ornate wallpapering and marble floors. [via realtor]

As a producer pair and up-and-coming Hollywood power couple, Noreen Halpern and Kevin Murphy are clearly on the move upward. Halpern, the executive producter of HBO’s “Hung” and Murphy, the Emmy-winning writer and producer of “Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical,” recently listed their English country-styled Hollywood Hills home for $1,195,000. The L.A. Times reports that the couple is moving “minutes away” into a 4,557-square-foot Spanish-style estate they purchased for $3.1 million in May from bestselling biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli. The home the pair is selling was built in 1927 and has 2,736 square feet spread out through four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The four-level estate has a private reading cove and a top-floor master suite, which boasts the home’s best views. The home was picturesque gardens and courtyards and a hot tub, but tragically, no pool. [via luxist]

Lenny Kravitz has cleaned up his image over the years and has apparently been similarly inspired to polish his condo from dark sex loft into a bright New York City palace. The Grammy-winning performer has reportedly put the condo on the market several times over the years and submitted the apartment to multiple renovations. The latest makeover is back on the market for $14.9 million and looks to be the most mature iteration of the home thus far. The 6,000 square-foot condo has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and 3,000 square feet terrace outfitted with a wood-burning fireplace. A suspended glass staircase carries guests to the second story, where the master suite and three additional bedrooms are housed. Another glass staircase leads to a rooftop deck and outdoor barbecue space. Eat your heart out, Lisa Bonet. [via luxist]

A picturesque Queen Anne Victorian built around the turn of the century, this colonial home in Lewisboro, New York underwent a renovation in 2007 to update its ambiance while preserving its historic character. Skylights were added throughout the 5-bedroom/4.5-bath home, lightening the rustic rooms and airing out any old-world stuffiness. The $2.6 million home is on two acres near a river and park and has a fenced yard with a pool and detached two-car garage. Wall-to-wall racks line the home’s wine cellar, which is appropriately dark and large enough to host tasting parties. The home is quirky, charming and well, cute. Your (millionaire) grandma would love this place. [via luxist]

A four-story brick townhouse in London recently emerged from a renovation that preserved its historic architecture while updating the residence with contemporary amenities. Renowned developers at Finchatton added glass walls and a floating staircase to make way for light, which illuminates subtle chrome fixtures and a warm color palette that’s bolstered by wool carpeting and wrought iron accents. A new basement space was excavated from beneath the 4-bed/4-bath home to host a Crestron home theater, complete with a 90-inch screen and Dolby Digital surround sound. Touch screens throughout the $9.5 million home control lighting, heating/cooling, security and an elaborate embedded house-wide music/entertainment system. [via adelto]
