The Lagonda Crossover Concept

Last week at the Geneva Motor Show 2009, the Lagonda concept brand introduced its crossover concept car to the world.  A collaboration between Aston Martin and Mercedes, the Lagonda concept will include the wheelbase and A-pillar positioning of the Mercedes GL, yet the heart and styling of this luxury crossover will be all Aston Martin.  The Lagonda styling actually reminds us quite a bit of the Toyota ABAT concept, perhaps with some Chrysler 300 mixed in for good measure.  We’re on the fence about the Lagonda.  It’s not our favorite from Geneva 2009, but certainly crave-worthy.[via autoblog]

ktm x bow roc 1 Sporty KTM X Bow ROC Shows Off in Geneva

Celebrating one year of production, motorbike manufacturer KTM took the wraps off of the latest X-Bow ROC edition in Geneva. Expected to race in the legendary ‘Race of Champions’ event, the lightweight vehicle packs a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine from Audi under a carbon fiber monocoque shell in white and black. With an adjustable sports suspension, a removable multi-function steering wheel, some sleek painted alloy wheels and a sporty exhaust, all of a sudden the MSRP of 69,980 Euros (some $89,000) doesn’t sound like much. Just looking at it and we feel like racing with Schumi and the gang … [via Autoblog]

wiesmann roadster mf4 1 Wiesmann Roadster MF4, the Black Night Coupe

Wiesmann’s new MF4 Roadster is a retro-themed coupe that drew plenty of attention with its old-school, aggressive design. With an accent on performance, the new MF4 is prepared to deliver thanks to a tuned 367 hp BMW-sourced 4.0L V8 engine mated to a six/seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Strictly limited for sale in Europe, the production for this “noble descendant” will vary from 250 to 350 units each year, with prices starting from $160,000.  Personally, we think the Wiesmann would look a bit better with US tags on. Unveiled at the Auto Salon in Geneva, the new 2010 Lotus Exige S 260 is the latest (and fastest) evolution of the company’s hard-core Exige marque. Featuring a restyled front end that focuses on better airflow, with bigger air intakes and a larger rear wing that adds stability, the race-track inspired vehicle is not just a visual treat but also a powerful one. With power coming from a Toyota-sourced 1.8-liter supercharged four-cylinder engine that develops a good 260 hp, it looks like a hugely expensive toy that wants to prove a point. Going on sale in the U.S. this fall, it’s definitely a toy that we’d love to play with. [via Jalopnik]

renault megane rs 2 Renault Megane RS, Waves from Geneva

Unveiled in Geneva a few days ago, the new Renault Megane RS is a fantastic looking racer that claims title for the hottest hatch in Europe. With a two-litre twin scroll turbo petrol engine under the hood that outputs 250 hp, a sharper chassis (Sport and Cup) along with a limited slip differential and a heavily improved steering, that sporting coupe definitely knows what ‘fast’ means. Designed to please the eye, Megane RS borrows much of its styling from the Trophy racer concept that the French showed off last year in Paris. And boy that spectacular front grille splitter, the center-exit exhaust or the sleek alloys make it look hot and aggressive. If anyone from Renault is reading, we want one for a test drive, guys… [via Autoblog]

frazer nash namir by giugiaro 5 Frazer Nash Namir by Giugiaro, Claims Worlds Fastest Hybrid Title

Famed design studios of Italdesign Giugiaro and the Brits from Frazer Nash teamed up to come up with the “world’s fastest hybrid” vehicle in the world. Unveiled in Geneva the other day, Namir (the Arabic word for tiger) is a plug-in hybrid concept with a carbon fiber chassis and unique honeycomb panels that scream power. With two brushless DC electric motors for the rear and the front axle, a substantial 400V lithium polymer battery underfloor pack and an 0.8-liter gasoline rotary engine that works as a generator when the batteries are depleted, the Namir is putting out a whopping 370 hp, has a top speed of 187 mph and a 1,200 mile range. Capable of accelerating from 0 to 62mph in just 3.7 seconds and to 124 mph in a mere 10.4 seconds, we’d love to hear that tiger roaring. [Images via LeftLane]

spyker c8 aileron 4 2009 Spyker C8 Aileron, Aircraft Influenced

Removing the shroud in Geneva last year with their C8 Aileron, the Dutch folks from Spyker caused some serious head turns. For this year’s salon, the jet-inspired supercar has been getting a more refined body that includes some eye catching LED turn indicators, scissor doors, a small rooftop air inlet and those stylish round air intakes in the flanks. As for what makes the C8 Aileron “fly”, there’s an Audi 4.2 liter V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, that outputs 400 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Capable of a top speed of 187 mph (300 km/h) and a 4.5-second 0-60 sprint, we’d love to get behind the wheel to check if it goes airborne or not. [via Jalopnik]
