The black washed wooden box is studded with steel hinge clips on the sides, and has a sturdy, multi-stripe leather strip for carrying. Inside, you’ll find all the essentials, including five colors of shoe paint, four kinds of luxury bees wax polish, two wood and horse hair polish brushes, a steel and horse hair suede brush, two medium and two small wood applicator brushes, two polish cloths and, of course, a metal shoehorn. Mr. Hare’s footwear collection, as good as it is on its own, definitely benefits from some seriously cool photography that makes each shoe look like it’s unfurling from a plant like an expensive, oversized flower.
