Considering that most clock radios are the first thing many of us see in the morning, it is a shame that most of them are tacky-looking, tinny sounding blights. For a long time, the only tasteful option was Tivoli’s Model Three, but there is now another audiophile-grade choice: The German-engineered Cubo. Available in seven colors and three real wood finishes that will blend in with with almost any color combination (or stick out if you want it to…). The Cubo offers a full range speaker and an integrated bass-reflex tube, a CD player, DAB radio and dual alarm clock with a 3.5mm connection for an iPod or MP3 player. The amber backlit display is dimmable, there’s a snooze button and the DAB/FM radio with PLL tuner has capacity for 6 preset stations.  [sonoro]

Pure Digital Flip Video Mino

The Mino is Pure Digital’s latest in a line of simple, yet affordable video cameras.  The 680×480 video the Mino shoots is far from Hi-Def, but it is of a manageable size to be stored on the internal 2GB of memory. The camera can record an hour of video with audio, and there is a time-remaining counter onscreen so you will know how much time you have left. The Mino also features an internal rechargeable battery, USB connectivity and editing software built into the camera itself.  So if you are looking to shoot your very own Cloverfield or that next celeb sighting to sell to the paps, the Mino is a handy little devil.
