Aprilia is entering the supermoto category in US with its SMV 750. Powered by a liquid-cooled V-Twin 750 cc engine, the ultra-cool bike offers 92 horsepower and stunning styling in both its black and red versions. The rest of the bike including the suspension, braking and handling have been revamped and redone to suit the new power output while the wave-shaped disc brakes offer plenty of safety. The light beast is all set to make its debut and can be yours for as much as $9,599. Your local city streets will be no match for this little monster… [via AutoBlog]

MOTOrepublic designers have been working on a full-scale prototype of an electric bike that won’t pollute the air– with either CO2 emissions or noise. Dubbed MOTOrepublic Beta, this electric motorcycle not only looks fantastic, with its battering ram-like headlight, but also packs some state of art technology that includes a new ultra-thin exoskeleton frame concept. We’d sure love to see it mass produced, but we’re a bit concerned it might be a bit pricey. Like it? [MOTOrepublic via HellForLeatherMag]

The Tucson BT550 Superleggera is not a big heavyweight champion among modern bikes… that’s exactly what makes it refreshingly different. This featherweight bike really steals the show with its lower fairing, simple design with clean lines, fine aerodynamics and subtle, 80′s-inspired styling. Under the body, the Tucson BT550 Superleggera has some Aprilia v-twin muscle, giving this featherweight plenty of push. More details to come, but for now we can kick back and drool over the imagery… [via HellForLeather]

Even though this is technically a concept car, we consider it one beastly little trike. Desgined by Alex Hodge in New Zealand, this is one example of what could help bring the Big 3 back from the darkside. Powered by a Honda RC51 V-twin 999cc engine with a redline of 10,000rpm, this trike will reach a top speed of 144 MPH. With three 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels equipped with twin rear and front disc brakes, it assures you that you can bring it back down from 144 to zero in a hurry. Made from a fiberglass outer shell and an alloy chassis, it gives this land jet the necessary aerodynamics to make sure the wind on the freeway won’t affect your 0-60 times. With its jet-style canopy, you can have the fighter plane you wanted without having to join the military. All you need is the Ray Ban’s and your call sign and the sky’s the limit. [via dvice]

Expected to be released somewhere next year, the Bimota DB7 Oronero will be the first production bike in the world with a carbon fiber frame and swingarm. Taking the biking revolution to the next level by building the subframes for both the DB7 and the Tesi 3D from space age material, the limited edition Oronero will surely stand out from the crowd. Apart from the reinvented bodywork, the bike also sports some GET digital instruments and a GPS system that tracks its movement on the racing turf. By dropping 6 Kg from the traditional DB7′s weight, the Oronero stands at a sizzling 164 Kg, all muscle! [via HellForLeather]

Take the Aprilia 850 Mana, remove its clothing and tweak it for the city, you’ve got yourself Aprilia‘s latest, the Aprilia Mana X. While initially revealed weeks ago, the Mana X has gone under the lens in a studio in all its naked glory. The Mana X retains the power functionality of the 850 Mana, the same CVT transmissions and swingarm, but in our eyes– the Mana X takes the blue ribbon for styling. Take a look at those classic camera-style lens headlights. Have a seat on the longform saddle (which covers the gas tank). Its the details on the Aprilia Mana X that make this one the object of our gearlust. Its just a concept for now, but we’re hoping to see this one on the street sooner than later. At first glance, its hard to imagine that this chunk of terror is street legal. This isn’t a secret military project, its not Batman’s next tumbler, its Ducati’s latest superbike released today, the Streetfighter. Its easy to recognize this beast as a Ducati, the patent monoshock side swingarm gives it away in an instant. On top of this and Ducati’s trademark lattice frame is a 1099cc liquid-cooled L-twin engine, producing 155hp at 9500rpm. Those dual exhaust pieces show that the Streetfighter means business. When it hits in the Spring of 2009, you can expect to get one in your garage for around $15k. Be careful on this one, its got enough muscle to melt the pavement below its treads… [ducati]

After leaked specs and spy shots, the RSV4 has finally been recognized by Aprilia. It looks like it is essentially the “R” version of the old RSV Mille, the new RSV4 has more angular plastic and is poised to compete with the Ducati 1098 on the World Superbike Circuit. There are two extremely cool aspects to Aprilia’s newest edition to its stables. Customers will actually be able to pick up the RSV4 in either race or road-bound models, pumping out an expected 210hp and 180hp (at the crank we presume) respectively. Also, these two stalions will be powered by 999cc V-Four engines. They won’t be able to run the larger displacement because they aren’t twins but it’ll be interesting to see how they fair against the Japanese in-line fours. No word on price yet, but with the Italian Super Bikes it’s never been about the price tag… it’s all about the style. [Aprilia via AutoBlog]

This 800-pound road terror fuses a 1200cc engine with a jet black, stainless steel jaguar on the prowl for pavement. A concept bike by Byron Hemmes for Massow Concept Cycles, the “Cat 1 Uber-Bike” features a 1200cc Buell 97 S3 Thunderbolt engine powering this animated Jaguar icon. If you’ve got a Jag in your garage, this bike is the ultimate accessory, a custom concept chopper that’ll likely see more action than the Jaguar itself… It’s priced around $567,000, so only oil barons and dot com sleuths need apply.
