There are electric motorcycles— and there is the new EV-0 RR. Put together by the crew at Evo Design Solutions, EV-0 RR is a new breed of superbike that turns into a rocket on wheels without guzzling on gas or oil. The EV-O RR Electric Motorcycle features a carbon fiber monocoque frame, two electric motors with lithium batteries and a double wishbone forkless front suspension. Not intended for mass production, the electric motorcycle is expected to prove its force at the TTXGP zero-emissions grand prix on June 19 on Isle of Man.  Our fingers are crossed that this green beast will hit the showroom at some point…  [via Wired]

After over seventy years languishing in a box, “one of the most important, innovative and visually stunning motorcycles ever produced” sees light again. Fully embracing the Age of the Machine and the culture of the times before World War II, the 1934 BMW R7 motorcycle is a bold visual representation of a bygone era in world history. Now covered with a lustrous black paint, there’s something about this bike that we can’t keep our eyes off of.  If we could get our hands on one of these, its likely we could not bring ourselves to ride it.  A thing so beautiful should be protected in the controlled environment of a high end private garage…  Okay, we’d certainly be taking this one for midnight spins!  [via TheCoolHunter]

20 Woodnt You Like to Ride This Vespa?

Using glue, clamps and strips of exotic wood, master carpenter Carlos Alberto has applied old-world woodworking techniques to urban motorsports, handcrafting a stunning and functional wood-bespoke Vespa scooter. The level of detail on this wooden Vespa is astonishing– from the hubs to the handlebars to its wooden abdomen.  Work-in-progress photos from the Portuguese craftsman show how much chiseling, planning, sanding and polishing went it to this work of art. The end result looks almost too pretty to ride. Almost.

core concept bike 1 The CORE Concept Bike by Victory Motorcycles

At the NYC International Motorcycle Show last week, Victory Motorcycles introduced their new CORE concept bike. Designed by Michael Song as an all muscle power cruiser with less conventional looks, the bike was stripped down to its raw essence to help set new standards. An amazing mix of art and science, CORE uses a cast-aluminum frame that houses all the mechanicals and is powered by a 1731cc V-twin motor mated to a six-speed gearbox that outputs a stunning 97 hp and 113 lb-ft of torque. Though it’s a completely unique bike that pushes the boundaries, Victory is sadly not going to have it produced… so we can only hope it will serve as inspiration to others. [via Motorcycle USA]
