Diamond Bear’s Presidential IPA arrived in our recent package from the Beer of the Month Club. While IPA is not our favorite style, we’re always eager to try new things. This makes our monthly arrival of the beer of the month package like a mini-Christmas, filled with 12 bottles of beers we’ve likely never heard of. This IPA pours a golden amber with thick, fluffy head and an aroma of sweet malts and citrusy hops. To the tongue, Presidential IPA has flavors of caramel, toasted malts and citrus that finishes with a spicy, hoppy bitter aftertaste. Presidential IPA is drinkable, not too pricey for a pack of six, and is well complimented with a lighter meat dish. Take the lower StyleCrave rating in stride, we tend to avoid IPAs and may not be the best critic of this style. StyleCrave Rating: C+

Planning on fish or pasta this weekend? A good Soave will do you right, but if you want a great one– try the 2007 Tamellini Soave, as sent from the Wine of the Month Club. Personally, I had never tried a Soave before, and this cool crisp white was a pleasant surprise. Tamellini Soave pours a pale golden yellow with light, honey/almond scents spicing up the citrus aroma. The flavor starts crisp with the same sense of citrus, ending bright and strong. If you need a meal suggestion for the weekend, make yourselves a shrimp pasta and pair it with a bottle of this. You’ll thank us!

Dutch fashion model Lonneke Engel dressed down for a stylish summer beach shoot with photographer Marcus Ohlsson. We certainly wouldn’t mind prancing around the beach with Miss Engel, who now at 28 years old has been modeling for over 16 years. We’ll have to forgive the fact, however, that she dated famed magician and douchebag David Blaine. It’s okay, Lonneke. As soon as we figure out how to pronounce your name we’ll lay the charm on something fierce.
