Tons of thought went into New Wave’s “Academy of the Frozen” editorial. Aiming for an editorial based on “pre-Renaissance Italian Schools of Thought,” stylist Cliff Hoppus chose romantic, loose, proper, and sometimes vaguely dandy pieces to combine in a serious spread.
“Casting was the most difficult step, because we wanted very modern boys who could also evoke the subjects of sixteenth century paintings. Getting the boys to sit still was the second most difficult step,” photographer Stephen Chu said. [via coute que coute]
