Billy Reid has a lot to live up to, with the award of “Best New Menswear Designer” from GQ bestowed upon him this month. After beating out Richard Chai, UNIS designer Eunice Lee, Caulfield Preparatory designer Vincent Flumiani, J. Crew menswear designer Frank Muytjens, and Burkman Bros, his new collection included his usual southern inspiration, as well as that of lawyers, the Lower East Side, dandies, and prep school outfits. Billy’s collaboration with Levi’s is coming up, and he’ll also be featured in the September 2010 issue of GQ. [via selectism]
