Reactor’s Trident Watch got some good publicity lately, when Army Staff Sergeant Sean Kane claimed that the watch survived two separate IEDs and one suicide bomber attack in Iraq. Not satisfied, the folks at Hodinkee subjected the $400 watch to their own rigorous testing. That involved dropping the watch 35 feet onto cement, throwing it into a brick wall, running it over with a Bentley and finally hitting it with a hammer. Did the Reactor Trident come away unscathed? Of course not. Hands were knocked lose, glass was cracked, and the band was scuffed, but the case remained intact and it appeared that the watch would still run if you put the hands back on.
