Why does that Mustang appear to completely rip off the World War II fighter’s style? Because it’s the Mustang AV-X10 ‘Dearborn Doll’, a one-off Mustang that Ford designed to be auctioned at the Experimental Aircraft Associaton’s Gathering of Eagles charity auction. Ford didn’t just put a new paint scheme on a standard Mustang, however; the AV-X10 features a 4.6L V-8 modified with Ford Racing Performance Parts 550-horsepower supercharger kit, FR500S exhaust and FRPP’s Handling Pack, in addition to tweaks to the body and interior. Last year’s AV8R brought in $500K at the auction and, despite the poor economic climate, this one looks like it should fetch a similar sum. [via AutoBlog]
