Ariel Atom 500 V8 Sees Daylight at $160k

Introduced last October, the new Ariel Atom 500 has just been announced to rope in at £100,000 (or about $160k  at today’s rate). The F1 inspired “mini-space shuttle” is powered by a custom V8 powerplant that is based on two Suzuki Hayabusa blocks mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The Ariel Atom 500 also features carbon fiber panels and aerofoils, an integrated function steering wheel, F1 style wings, magnesium wheels and four-piston Alcon brake calipers.  This six-figure Ariel Atom 500 represents the outer limits of what is achievable in a road registered car.
