2009 Omega PloProf 5

Originally launched in 1970, Omega’s PloProf made a comeback at this year’s BaselWorld in Switzerland. As bold and distinctive as the original, the legendary timepiece is now one of the most sought after diving watches in the world. Featuring a massive one-piece stainless steel case, a co-axial movement, an ingenious bezel locking device, an unique crown locking nut for reduced distortion and imposing slabs of steel for better protection, the 2009 Ploprof has been upgraded and it’s now good to almost 4,000 feet under (1,200 meters). With a cult status and an unmistakably chunky profile, you’ll have to start saving if you want to have it on your wrist for your next encounter with a shark. The selling price will be around $7,500 when available in a few months. [via Watch-Happening]
