Over the last decade, Scandinave has built a reputation for its impeccable, exclusive spa retreats. In 1999, the company opened its first spa in the rural cabin country near Quebec’s Mont Tremblant ski hills. In 2006, the first franchise opened in the Blue Mountain ski hills of Collingwood, Ontario. Cutting the ribbon on its first urban spa, Scandinave’s brand new Les Bains Vieux-Montréal is a sleek and contemporary bathhouse, a 12,000 square-foot oasis built in the bottom floor of a restored warehouse. Designed by Gilles Saucier and André Perrotte from Montreal firm Saucier + Perrotte, Les Bains Vieux-Montréal is decidedly less cozy with its open spaces and cool slate, marble, glass and limestone. A new Scandinave spa will open near the Whistler, British Columbia ski runs in time for 2010 Winter Olympics. [via the coolhunter]
