Forbes Billionaires 2009

Forbes Billionaires 2009 list shows one common trait amongst the world’s richest people: everyone has taken a hit in this ugly economic climate.  The top 3 richest people in the world, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Carlos Slim Helu have seen their portfolios chopped from $180 billion to just $112 billion in light of the recent stock market crash.  The average worth of the billionaires on Forbes’ list is $3 billion, down 23% from one year ago.  While the rest of us may be struggling with things like mortgages, escalating bills and shrinking retirement, the people on Forbes Billionaires 2009 list have to deal with losing billions.  We certainly don’t feel bad for them… [read more at forbes]
