16,000 Square-foot Modern London ‘Mansion’

Unsatisfied in their search for the ideal family home, husband and wife team Anil and Marisa Varma decided to create what the market couldn’t muster: a 16,000 square-foot, 8-bed “flexible” and modern home near Hampstead, London. The home is impeccable and opulent, framed by large windows and voluminous, clean-white interior spaces. Dark wood accents mark bedrooms and bar areas, while sandblasted glass and tiny yellow tile mosaics line the master bathroom. A stunning indoor pool emanates a jade glow near an adjoined outdoor courtyard. After completing The Mansion in 1996, they got to work founding Harrison Varma, a design-and-build outfit that helps like-minded families create their own dream homes. [via contemporist]
