2009 Spyker C8 Aileron, Aircraft Influenced

Removing the shroud in Geneva last year with their C8 Aileron, the Dutch folks from Spyker caused some serious head turns. For this year’s salon, the jet-inspired supercar has been getting a more refined body that includes some eye catching LED turn indicators, scissor doors, a small rooftop air inlet and those stylish round air intakes in the flanks. As for what makes the C8 Aileron “fly”, there’s an Audi 4.2 liter V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, that outputs 400 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Capable of a top speed of 187 mph (300 km/h) and a 4.5-second 0-60 sprint, we’d love to get behind the wheel to check if it goes airborne or not. [via Jalopnik]
