Although it hasn’t been officially unveiled, the new Opel Ampera is not a secret anymore. Over the weekend, Opel leaked images of the hybrid vehicle made it to the Internet. Running on GM’s Voltec plug-in hybrid system and offering a 60 km range running solely on those 16 kWh batteries, the European version of the Chevy Volt packs an internal combustion engine and extends to 500km. With eye-catching futuristic shapes that makes us wonder why there isn’t a Chevy Ampera for the States, we’ll be able to adore it tomorrow when the Auto Show in Geva kicks in.  Seriously, why are we stateside car lovers stuck with the visually boring Volt when our Euro friends get that sexy beast above?
