Though it bears a striking resemblance to its predecessor, the Pagani Zonda R is almost entirely new. Only 10% of the supercar’s parts are shared with the Zonda F, according to a press release from the Italian manufacturer. The new model is 394 mm longer and has a 47 mm wider wheelbase. The track has been upped by 50 mm. The fit and finish refined and immaculately Italian. The powerplant, however, is all German. Dialing in the non street-legal track car’s six-speed transversal sequential gearbox up to 8,000 rpm, drivers have 750 hp of 6.0 liter Mercedes AMG V12 at their disposal and 524 lb-ft of torque. Zero-60 mph in 3.2 and a top speed of 248.54 mph. Not bad for 1.4 million euros. [via autoblog]
