LinkCrave: When Art is a Gamble
By Mike Payne
Chinese artist Jiu Jianhua has earned a name for himself with his strange, polychrome ceramic works and porcelain cityscapes. His latest exhibit, being displayed at the Galeria Continua in San Gimignano, Italy, is certainly not a departure from his past examples of eccentricity. His Dream in Conflict exhibition features a large, two-section model of the Shanghai skyline constructed solely with poker chips and dice. Vibrant in both color and meaning, Dream in Conflict is likely to carry Jiu Jianhua’s name to a much more common standing in the art world. [coolhunting]
