LinkCrave: Don’t Keep That Bank Error Money
Wednesday, January 14, 2009 4:30PM - By Mike Payne

In spite of what that Monopoly card says, a bank error in your favor is NEVER in your favor. While this is a bit of an extreme example, a Pennsylvania couple had a few extra zeroes accidentally added to the end of a recent bank deposit. Instead of a $1,700 check, the bank accidentally turned that into $170k. Not a bad introduction to the new year, huh. Having kept the money without bringing it up, the couple was arrested for theft of the money and are now being held under $100,000 bail. Ironic, much?
