Fisker Karma S Revealed in Detroit
By Alex Ion
Just when we thought that lower gas prices and the economic downturn are going to kill the electric car, Fisker Automotive took the curtains off of the new Karma S at the Detroit Auto Show. The 50-mile range, four-seat plug-in hybrid convertible uses an aluminum spaceframe design and runs on a clean Q-DRIVE powertrain. It sends some 400hp to the rear wheels from a pair of electric motors packed in the back, while a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine (260hp) generates electricity for the lithium-ion battery pack. Karma S is a sweet concept and a fresh design– which should be market ready by 2011. [via AutoBlog]
