In charge with building a home for a family of four just outside Seattle, the designers from Cutler Anderson Architects had to fit keywords like “innovative” and “unique” into a tight budget. Designed as a simple rectangular box on a flat lot with a great park view, the Edwards Residence is clad in wood from base to roof– focusing on details like the custom fireplace and chimney or the wood frame windows. The interior is spacious, open and reminiscent of interiors by one Frank Lloyd Wright.  In total, the Edwards Residence succeeds at providing a warm, smokey retreat feel just a short drive from the bustle of Seattle.
