Money as Art: Dollar Origami by Won Park
By Mike Payne
Artist Won Park has developed a hobby fraught with existential conflict. When faced with the choice of making money or making art, Park chose both. Mr. Park is a “money folder”, a practitioner of origami whose canvas is the United States One Dollar Bill. Bending, twisting, and folding, Won Park creates life-like shapes inspired by objects living and not– both in stunning detail. While the art of origami may not grace the walls of museums or the collections of the wealthy, Park’s portfolio is deserving of an equivalent respect. For those interested in learning about Park’s art of “money folding”, the artist himself has a Yahoo Group to share his technique and talent. Kudos to Won Park, we here at StyleCrave are instant fans… [won park at deviantart]

This is also a good way to fight inflation. The value of a dollar may not drop as far if it becomes a piece of art.

This is really neat! Now if I only had the money to do something like this!
