With a splendid scenery and a wild view over the Okanagan Lake, the Maurer Residence in British Columbia, is an amazing piece of architecture. Designed with simple forms and quality furnishings by Allen+Maurer Architects , the home proves to be an eco-friendly environment with large roof overhangs for better ventilation, wooden flooring, metal cladding and some large Low-E glass windows. Looks like they won’t need AC for the hot summers, but I wonder how sustainable it is in the winter.  This modern cottage is the ideal retreat for those NorthWestern city dwellers that could use a natural getaway on weekends… [via Contemporist]
