If you ever happen to wander off into the woods of Karuizawa, in the Nagano prefecture of Japan, you stumble upon a fascinating work of architecture called the Shell House. Designed by architect Kotaro Ide and drawings inspiration from a conch-shell, this beautiful holiday retreat sports plenty of space and provides some gorgeous views through its large glass windows. Though the double-elliptical home was built with reinforced concrete, it still kept in sync with the traditional Japanese design and looks simply amazing, doesn’t it? [via Design-Boom]
