When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.  While it may have never gotten weird enough for Hunter S. Thompson, he left behind some of the greatest writings of the 20th century.  His brand of self-indulgent, investigative journalism got him up-close, personal and in the midst of the subjects he covered.  From riding with the Hell’s Angels, sparring with Mohammed Ali, arguing football with Nixon and law with Carter, Thompson was never an observer- he was an active part of the greatest stories of his time.  In celebrating his work, the M+B gallery in Los Angeles has released a set of 12 photographs from Thompson’s own archive in fine, collector’s prints.  Thompson fans will find this a welcome addition to any collection of the writer’s works.
