People in the Netherlands have great taste when it comes to architecture and since writing about these things I’ve seen lots of modern, but at the same time elegant, buildings that scream for attention. A quick example is the penthouse addition on the roof of the Las Palmas building in Rotterdam by Benthem Crouwel Architects, that not only turned it into a high class office space but is also stuns us with its amazing design and structure. With large windows and promoting open space, the building allows natural light inside for the whole day. Too bad they’re not using any solar cells or other sustainable methods to make it less dependent on grid energy. [via Contemporist]
