This one of a kind watch, a rare 1956 Patek Phillippe chronograph, was recently auctioned at the Antiquorum, the world’s premier watch auctioner. Though expected to rake in some $1.2M, it was sold for a whopping $1,514,400. Say whaaat?

This 18k yellow gold chronometer has three sub dials within the main dial which display a 30 minute register, a perpetual calendar and the phases of the moon along with a tachometer that outlines the dial. Apart from this, there is an additional 18k yellow gold link bracelet, a neat storage box and extracts from the watchmaker’s archives. I’d love to wear it, but with that price I’d be dead afraid of doing it outside of a sealed building. [via Press release]
