With counterfeit goods capturing most of the retail markets, the original producers have to work hard on techniques that could stop their goods from being forged. A few days ago, Vacheron Constantin declared that it has come up with an ideal plan that could deter their wrist watches from being duplicated. They announced a specially designed luxury watch dubbed the “Quai de L’lle”, that will be launched in between the hue and cry of the financial crunch on 22nd October in New York. Some of its features that prevent forging include a distinguishing sun image between the 1 and 2 o’clock position that can only be visible in UV light, laser perforations of some of the watch parts, special high security inks and other fool-proof methods used for passports and currencies. Prices will start at $29,000 and will go up to $60,000 depending on what you want customized on it. Do you mind me saying that I don’t think it’s not “forgeable’? The Chinese will surely get it!
