Los Heroes Building in Santiago, Chile
By Alex Ion
Murtinho Y Asociados Arquitectos have taken up the competitive task of transforming a building made in the 70′s into a modern office for The General Offices of Caja de Compensacion Los Heroes. This is an independent, non-profit institution that manages security funds for economic help to retired persons and workmen by offering small loans to them. The building is mainly being designed to benefit the senior citizens and will be built upon a nature-leisure concept.
The colourful panels of the wall will not only highlight this concept but will also trap solar energy using UV ray filters that protect the interior part of the building from getting heated. Also, the symmetrical layout of the interior gives a proper balance to all the floors within. For more info check out ArchDaily.

[...] In Santiago, Chile, the 38 years old Los Heroes Building has been renovated into a very modern office building that will turn heads when walking by. Murtinho Y Asociados Arquitectos have been in charge with the change and I must say they did a great job. They installed some fancy colorful panels that won’t only highlight the concept but also act as solar panels to trap sunlight. To prevent interior heating, the building also features some sort of UV ray filters. Overall it looks very classy and I’d be glad to have an office in that building. Would you? – via StyleCrave [...]
